El-Rayes Foundation staff in Vancouver and
Egypt are all volunteers. As a result, 100% of the money donated
is spent on the charitable purpose it was given for. Also,
fundraising is done by volunteers. As a result, there is no
overhead cost (no employees) and the administrative cost is
kept minimal. However, professional consultants may be hired
to provide technical expertise necessary for our services
to be delivered at an acceptable professional level.
The Foundation is helping patients in British
Columbia in an area that is underserved. In this way, it is
filling a gap to help some British Columbians to enhance their
quality of life and enhance their healing.
In the Scholarship Program, the Foundation
is serving individuals who are in real need for financial
assistance to provide their basic necessities and enable them
to continue their studies in schools in Egypt rather than
being driven into child labor.
The Scholarship Program helps raise a kinder,
gentler new generation that makes doing acts of kindness a
part of their conviction. The scholarship recipients will
become a role model for their peers and the community. Their
ultimate goal will be to represent Egypt in joining the World
Kindness Movement. It will also help raise a generation that
believes in nonviolence means to resolve personal, community,
national, and international conflicts.
